Re: run QCAD Pro and Community concurrently?
What is a recommended, best-practice way to run QCAD-Pro and Community edition 'side by side', or switch between the two functionalities and not cause license issues with my Pro license? I can't spot a licens issue in this scenario. Pro is payed, CE is free -- no conflict! Best practice? Don't know...

Re: Blocks, Library, Edit Block, Edit Block In Place
But I guess my real question in my last post was about the use of names and was that the reason why my process above failed . I had a PART saved in the library. I edited a copy of that PART in a drawing. As part of that editing I had to make it a BLOCK, with a name. I used the same name. I tried to...

Re: Suggestion: Add cycles/turns to the available units for angular dimensions.
I do still think that having cycles (a.k.a. turns) added to the available units would be beneficial though. I have the feeling we are used to different geometrically terms. Sorry but I don't understand your terms. A circle is a circle. Ok! What is a turn? An arc? Why a.k.a circle? Means that a turn...

Re: Two Suggestions: Add an option for controlling the tooltip delay and to show hotkey labels near every button.
Honestly, I think you are looking for a software/GUI supported cheat sheet. 8) Shortcut user are amazingly good in memorizing those shortcuts. 40 - 50 shortcut keys are no problem for them. Because of that they will most likely hide most of the tool icons. Other user like me use on a regular base up...

Re: Cannot find "moving reference points" in the program
Hi Peter, to make Reference Points visible it needs a selection of the entity. Every method of selection will do it. In your excample just click the entity with one left mouse click. Now you will see all reference points of the entity. All in blue except one in red. The red one indicates the start p...

Re: Two Suggestions: Add an option for controlling the tooltip delay and to show hotkey labels near every button.
Hi, 1. Can't reproduce that on my Windows system. My tooltip delay is already zero or almost zero. 2. Every CAD application should have one main goal: Keep drawing canvas (Model_Space) as large as possible! Every tiny area spent in the toolbar etc. for e.g. a shortcut info will reduce the working ar...

Re: Suggestion: Add cycles/turns to the available units for angular dimensions.
Hi, For example, I usually think things like "I want to rotate 1/4 of the way around the circle" and then mentally translate that to 90 degrees, but it would be nice if I could just input the 1/4 directly (either as decimal or even better yet as a fraction that is directly translated by QCAD). Most ...

Yes, Microsoft itself offers tools (for free) to do just that.

Re: Paper scale vs drawing scale
So, the drawing border/title block is scaled up to 1:1 with the drawing, usually put in its separate layer. Please note: Qcad will scale everthing in your drawing. Even border/title block. To compensate this fact you have to counter that with counter scaling those parts of your drawing. If your des...

Re: Paper scale vs drawing scale
Hi, welcome to the Qcad community. Common praxis in CAD (also Qcad) is to draw everything in 1:1. Size of the project or choosen unit doesn't matter at all!!! The print scale like 1" = 48" comes during the print procedere into the game. Easy like cake. Here a tutorial about printing to paper ...

Re: Grid and Meta Grid
As a matter of fact not many proffecionals are using grid to design a CAD drawing. For me it is comparable in this area of expertise like coloring by numbers. I understand that this feature doesn't get more attention from the Qcad developer. This said, it doesn't mean that for one or an another draf...

Re: Automatic Mirror Copy?
@Chips&Chips thanks that you elaborated to us why you would like to have an "automatically updated mirrowed copy" for parts of the drawing. Great that Andrew's solution works for you. It is impressive what Qcad can accomplish, isn't it? However, I thought it can't hurt if I file a feature request ev...
