Interpolated shapes

All, Don't know how many do follow my endeavour with FlexPainter? In development... With a shape as in this: https://qcad.org/rsforum/viewtopic.php?t=6565 Envision the creation of a global spline from fitpoints at fixed intervals along the shape. By default exploding this spline to a poly would join...

Re: Select and offset

I suppose if the shape is properly split at the 4 nodes .... Please enlighten me, us. Your shape consist of 681 vertexes. All 681 segments are straight lines. Where do you want the shape to be cut? With a cloned Poly Simplify factor 1 we get a good idea of where the co-linears are. At these points ...

Re: FlexPainter beta 0.34

Andrew, all, v0.36 now and a little stuck. The painter width is now base9. By this the user can choose the actual width. And it was also possible to let the actual painter length and stepsize to be set individually. PreserveLook overrides these two and revert back to base9 times a factor dictated by...

Can't follow my script in debugger mode with the dialog displayed.
This seems to be a MS Windows issue only.

Re: Select and offset

after selecting a polygon, nothing will set it When I do a polygon select (TP) around your shape, or a rectangular select (TR), or a draw select or select all for that matter. I get 1 poly on layer_1 with 681 vertexes. Remark that for the first 2 methods one can change the mode of selecting. In my ...

Re: FlexPainter beta 0.34

Andrew, is there an 'easy' way to set a Dialog not modal. Can't follow my script in debugger mode with the dialog displayed. Tried to create a widget instead. WidgetFactory.createDialog(...) vs. WidgetFactory.createWidget(...) Only found: progressDialog.windowModality = Qt.WindowModal; ProgressBar.p...

Re: Brain turbulence - angleline

Hi, longliner, you allready discoverd it. Line from Angle (LA) will created an angled line. The options are at the top. (Without changes to the look and feel of Qcad....) Options are: A Line Piece / An Infinite Line / A Ray. The Angle in the XY cartesian scope, positive X-axis = 0 degrees, CCW orien...

Re: New here. Not sure where to post this question.

Still off-topic Use for testing styrofoam as a workpiece what takes out a lot of the guesswork. It is cheap and gentle to your milling cutter ... Is indeed a good way to start but keep your SPEED down or you will be melting instead of milling. If a circle turns out to be an oval, a square, a rectang...

Re: Uneven scaling of Polys

Andrew, I think I am done testing. Disregarded null-lenght Poly and NULL-Poly. These should not be attemted to scaled. Merely trying to select a NULL-poly (= @origin) will lead to an AppCrash. The math is also not applicable on null-lenght segments that have a value for bulge. >> this will result in...

Re: Re-OPEN SOLVED: Addressing regular Qcad scripts

Re-encountered it with this topic: https://qcad.org/rsforum/viewtopic.php?t=6552 This time I know exactly what I did: it only took me 35 min And my memory is not that bad yet. Downloaded most recent zip with Qcad master from Github >> Data drive / Copy downloads Expanded under Copy downloads/master ...

Re: Uneven scaling of Polys

Here are my first quick tests: Scaled Cyan underlay are the scaled arc segments as ellips arcs. > What is the only correct way but ellips arcs can not be part of a polyline. Scaled Dark red is the standard method that keeps the bulges unchanged. Scaled Green is the mathematical scaled tangent method...

Getting the hang of it: Included are: Adapted Scale.js > Changes are marked with 'CVH' Adapted ScaleDialog.ui > For now without change to AppPreffs for testing > Only works from the dialog NOT YET fully tested on all kinds of Polys: So BE AWARE . Edit: Further testing finished. I made myself a siden...
