I have tried to run it both from the command line and from within the file manager. When I try from the command line it tells me permission denied. I have tried both as root and as a user. I ran ldd qcad but I am not sure what the results are telling me. Jim Looks like the permissions of the binary...

How long are you holding the left mouse button to select the nodes? I can't ever seem to get their attention. Step by step: 1. move mouse cursor close to an entity 2. click left mouse button (quickly press and release the left mouse button without moving the mouse) entity is now selected and blue s...

Re: Newbie Question: Can't Delete Lines

Greetings. I installed v2.0.5 QCAD Community last week & am trying to figure out how to make it work. I made a couple of lines & tried to delete them but am unable to do so. I followed the manual from the help tab but, when I click edit, then delete, the arrow cursor becomes a square with crosshair...

Re: Install problem under linux

You can safely comment that part out, it is only used for debugging. Hi, I have just downloaded vec2web, set QTDIR and started the build script. However, when building libqcad I got: ../include/rs_math.h:90: warning: unused parameter ‘ok’ engine/rs_entity.cpp: In function ‘std::ostream& operator<<(s...

Re: Can't Edit Block (not visible)

This FAQ entry might answer your question: http://www.ribbonsoft.com/qcad_doc_faq.html#20 I have a drawing with several blocks, and it seems I can only see the block in the block edit window if ALL my layers are visible in the main drawing, even if I can see the blocks on the main drawing. I spent a...

Re: Editing Splines

Yes, you can select the spline and then drag and drop the small blue dots which are the nodes you clicked to create the spline first.

Re: How do I know the dimensions of a line, box circle as I

You might want to enable the preferences widget (QCad Professional) to get more information about one or more selected entities. While drawing, you can enter coordinates ("snap to coordinate" function in QCad Pro or enter coordinate "x,y" or "@x,y" (relative) in command line). Note that QCad is not ...

No, that is a misunderstanding. Professional releases and Community releases are not synchronized in any way. Note that the development of QCad depends entirely on Professional licenses being sold. Without the Professional version there would not be a community version either. Maybe I didn't ask my ...

Re: Can I run community edition in osx?

I'm afraid but compiling sources is usually not the best solution for new users. In a nutshell, you will have to install XCode, download / compile Qt 3.3.x, set up the QTDIR environment variable, download the QCad sources and run scripts/build_qcad.sh. Very, very new to mac. I like very much what I ...

Re: Dimensions and Measurements

Will any of the tools for drawing text or putting dimensions on drawings from the scripting language be available as standard any time soon? Probably not real soon. The scripting engine that QCad uses (QSA from TrollTech) has been dropped as a product. It will take some time to port the existing sc...

Sounds strange. How do you try to run QCad? If you are not trying from the command line, please try this: cd /directory/where/qcad/is ./qcad If it won't start, please run ldd to check if you have all required libraries: ldd qcad Thank you for your time. I downloaded and tried the new version and I h...

thank you for your answer the raster file is at 4209x3276px for only 962ko, my system can handle it (Autocad uses it without slowing down) so is there any way to prevent the default behavior ? Unfortunately not. Note that QCad is not as highly optimized as AutoCAD. The file size of the image is irr...
