Re: How to print multiple Layout blocks to one PDF file

The latest dwg2pdf included in QCAD Snapshot 3.23.0.6 contains these switches if you wish to test them.

Re: Testing Snapshot qcad-3.23.0.6-pro-win64

Thanks for your report. Not sure I understand correctly: - Are there entities that were drawing with color "ByLayer" which show up as color "18" in Autocad? - Is color "18" the default color when starting to draw new entities? In both cases, please attach the drawing file since all data controlled b...

Re: Not sure about which is the general intent of the symbol effect for sub layer

BTW: there's only that distinction if the frozen column is shown. Otherwise, if "Switching off means freeze" is on, making a layer invisible also freezes it which freezes the whole hierarchy.

Re: Not sure about which is the general intent of the symbol effect for sub layer

Yes, this is intended. Freeze affects the whole hierarchy, visibility does not. This is not strictly logical but in line with freeze vs. visibility for blocks.

Re: How to print multiple Layout blocks to one PDF file

I've settled for: -block=BLOCK_NAMES Comma-separated list of block(s) or layout(s) to export List may include regular expressions List defines order of export unless -block-sort is used A block may be exported more than once unless -block-unique is used -block-sort Sort blocks in natural order Layou...

These look great, thanks.

Can these be included in future packages of the QCAD Community Edition and QCAD Professional? If so under what license terms? Credits would appear under Help > About QCAD > Credits, for example:

Re: How to print multiple Layout blocks to one PDF file

Correct, since "*Paper_SpaceXXX" is the block name of those layout blocks.

This behaviour might change in a future version to sort based on the layout name for layouts. Or perhaps use the layout order since layouts (unlike blocks) do have an order value attached to them.

Re: How to print multiple Layout blocks to one PDF file

Blocks are sorted by name alphanumerically (see natural sort order).

The order of names in the -block parameter is irrelevant. Note that the string passed to the -block argument may contain regular expressions in which case the argument could not be used to define the order.

Re: sketchup C API for import/export ?

Yes, I don't see why not. You'd have to create a QCAD plugin that links in the SketchUp API and import these files as (2D) QCAD entities.

Re: How to print multiple Layout blocks to one PDF file

The multipage feature is intended to print large drawings 1:1 on multiple pages to be stuck together as a poster. There is no "before" or "after" when adding pages. Adding more pages vertically will indeed expand the available paper space toward the top (Y+) which you might perceive as "before", but...

Hello and welcome to the QCAD forum. Please attach or e-mail your drawing file as this might be related to the drawing file rather than the QCAD installation or drivers, etc. Thanks.

Re: Remove Test Program .

QCAD installs under ~/opt, that's for example /home/ned/opt/qcad-3.23.0-pro-linux-x86_64 if your user name is "ned". All files are installed into one single folder. To uninstall, simply remove that folder.

Re: dxf file name in gcode

You have two implementations of LxcncIn.prototype.writeFile. The second one will overwrite the first one: // define writeFile: LxcncIn.prototype.writeFile = function(fileName) { ... }; // define writeFile again, with different contents, overwriting the first one: LxcncIn.prototype.writeFile = functi...
