Re: Different Font Size Between AUTOCAD and QCAD

Autocad uses various text formatting codes, some of which are not supported in QCAD. "\pxsm1.5,qc;" is such a code. I haven't seen this before with the ",qc" part. I've added this to be ignored in future versions to avoid displaying the code itself. There are currently no plans to add support for in...

Re: Solids & faces & test protos

Q1/Q2: A solid can be an arbitrary polygon with three or four vertices. Q3: You can create a solid from the ECMAScript console: doc=getDocument(); e = new RSolidEntity(doc, new RSolidData(new RVector(0,0), new RVector(50,0), new RVector(0,50), new RVector(50,50))); addEntity(e) Note that the vertex ...

Re: I can't change the color of an entity

Try:

Code: Select all

op.addObject(entity, false);
false: Don't use current attributes chosen by user.

Re: Ver 3.24.0 Drawing area is low resolution (pixelated) on screen

USER2019X: Are you using a high-res / retina display? If yes, you can enable a high-res graphics display (at the cost of performance) under Edit > Application Preferences > Graphics View > Appearance > Use full resolution for Retina Display To further improve the smoothness of the display, you can e...

Re: Block Hatch anomaly?

I can confirm that this use case (boundary path elements partially from (different) blocks) is not currently implemented. I'd suggest to duplicate / explode the block for hatching.

Re: Trigonometric accuracy

Not sure what to do with this.. this is standard ECMAScript / JavaScript (same in C/C++) and unrelated to QCAD. You might want to implement your own trigonometric functions that handle these cases differently (e.g. function myTan(v) { .... }).

Re: Trigonometric accuracy

These are typical floating point number problems, common to all computers. It has to do how numbers are stored and how computers are (by nature) limited.

Re: Added lines after Addline not functional

This seems to work fine here. The script adds the lines to the current drawing. Perhaps an autozoom after running the script does the trick? Another common problem is drawing in the background color. This depends on your color / layer preferences.

Re: QCAD 3.24.0 Release

Thanks for your kind feedback and encouragement! Yes, linking to qcad.org is of course always welcomed. I think there are quite a few former DraftSight users now in this forum. I see QCAD as a much simpler solution than those rather complex Autocad clones, but for many users that complexity might no...

Re: How to combine entities to a new outline?

Can you attach an example that crashes? Does it really crash or just hang, i.e. the operation takes very long? Note that if QCAD is "not responding" that does not mean it crashed but simply that it's busy.

Re: Block creation problem

Yes, I suppose it could be handled differently. I think it's a user error though. Ultimately, the user is driving QCAD and there are many ways to create such recursive block dependencies. The offset circles are QCAD's attempt to render the recursive block. It stops after a number of iterations to pr...
