Need a little help setting up a template.

Greetings all, I am working on making some templates for what I usually work in 11X17" A3 paper and US units.
I am having a hard time setting up reasonable scales of text and the default 'Linear Factor' seems to be tied to the printing scale of 1/4 IN = 1 Foot.
Any tips?
Template attached.
Thank you.

Re: hatch pattern too dense. hatch pattern generation aborted

Thank you, I find it really helps to have the printed copy of your book, but I am still going to have lots of questions on here. I see now my 7 attempts were successful just at the wrong scale ;) I never thought it would let me put a hatch on a hatch. I take it the best way to clean it up ...

Re: hatch pattern too dense. hatch pattern generation aborted

Thanks for the quick reply!
Is there a way I can change the hatch in that drawing at that scale so it does not slow down Qcad?

hatch pattern too dense. hatch pattern generation aborted

I tried to make a hatch in my drawing and now qcad is slowing down to a crawl and I am getting the following on my console: Warning: RHatchData::getPainterPaths: hatch pattern too dense. hatch pattern generation aborted (timeout set to 2000 )... Warning: RHatchData::getPainterPaths: hatch pattern t...

[solved] How do I paste aligning other than middle or grid?

Greetings I would like to copy a wall and paste it aligning its right side to an existing line. I have tried the options in the 'snap' menu, all of them still give me the yellow 'middle' or 'grid' options. The restrict horizontal and vertical seem to pick arbitrary locations. I am hoping to paste wi...

How do I close a loop?

Greetings I have a circle with some lines crossing. I would like to fill in the area between the line on the right and the edge of the circle. I am getting the error 'Loop not closed at point' ... Not sure how to locate the point that is not closed. I tried explode and making a block out of the sele...

Browse Tool?

Greetings all, often when I reopen a drawing that I have not used in a long time or from another program it is super zoomed out and hard to find the actual drawing to zoom into.
Is there a hand 'browse' tool that will push the drawing around for me?
Thanks in advance.

I noticed Qcad 3 has support now for dwg.
Is it using libredwg or the open design alliance libraries?
Thanks

That is exiting news. I only use qcad for basic stuff but have definitely gotten my money's worth. I think the project would benefit from a developer like yourself and it would be probably worth the time spent in not spending cash on dwg licensing fees. They have a shortage of testers and complain a...

LibreDWG -SummerOfCode DWG write support

Now that LibreDWG is making progress is Qcad looking at this as a better long term DWG library than the "open" design alliance?
