Hi from PA
Hi, Phill from Pennsylvania, USA here. I'm a controls engineer using AutoCAD then Draftsight for electrical schematics and electrical panel layouts. I couldn't justify the annual subscriptions, because most of my work is in programming. Tried QCAD and a few other options last year, QCAD worked so we...

Re: Ordinate Dimension Zero
Thank you all! I believe a UCS was the correct term I was asking for, sorry I didn't search for it first in the forum. Creating all of the dimensions, then editing the origin of all at the same time will work perfectly. I've never ever used the views before, I will definitely be checking it out when...

Re: Ordinate Dimension Zero
Sorry this took so long, I've been slammed with work recently. Here is a video link hopefully showing what I'm asking for: http://www.neanderthalsolutions.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/ordinate-dim.mp4 Something I should have added at the end, for 3 ordinate dimensions, moving the origin is no big ...

Re: Ordinate Dimension Zero
Not exactly. Yes it gives the same information.
I use ordinate dimensions for electrical panel layouts. Depending on the size, there may be 10-20 items that need dimensioned per side, all referenced back to zero. In my opinion, the ordinate dimension comes out looking cleaner.

[solved] Ordinate Dimension Zero
I'd like to suggest remembering where the ordinate dimensioning zero is moved to, for successive ordinate dimensions. Currently, I place one dimension, pan/zoom as needed, drag the zero point to where I want it (with more panning and zooming). Then repeat the whole process multiple times. It would b...

Re: Printing line weight issues
So using 0.00 actually didn't fix the issue. Not sure why it worked.
The solution was to change the lineweight from DEFAULT to a value of .25mm or .50mm, based on how I want it to look.
Is there a way to assign DEFAULT to be .25mm when printing?

Re: Printing line weight issues
Very impressed with how quickly you both replied! I tried all 3 fixes. Selecting all of the layers, and setting their lineweight to 0.00mm solved the issue. I'm assuming this problem came from switching from draftsight. While I'm not going to redo all of my files, do you recommend creating templates...

Printing line weight issues
Hi, I recently purchased QCAD, running version 3.22.1.0 on ubuntu 18.04. All of my files so far were created in draftsight. When printing, the lineweights are too thin. Attached is the file I've spent the most time troubleshooting, and in image of the print. Most of the layers are set to the default...
