Re: flange.dxf disappeared
I did all of this--I do not know how else QCAD would be running on my Mac anyway.

Layers shown in viewports
QCAD Pro 3.23.0.0. MacBook Pro OS 10.14.5 I'm trying to learn how to work with Layouts. I created several viewports in a layout with the intent of showing different combinations of layers in each one, like blowing a portion up to show detail at a larger scale that I do not want to show at a smaller ...

flange.dxf disappeared
I installed an update on my MacBook Pro OS 10.14.5 and since then, I cannot find flange.dxf anywhere (I want to study it to learn about layouts); i.e. Find flange.dxf returns nothing. Is there a way to download it from somewhere?

move w/o changing layer assignments
I tried to move a selection of objects which were assigned to various layers. After the move, all were assigned to the currently active layer. How can I move, or more generally modify an object without changing its layer assignment to the active layer?
Thank you!
Thank you!

Re: Autocad-readable dxf
It's not me who has the Autocad--it's the engineer I'm sending my drawings to. He didn't know, but could open dwg versions--so, the issue is moot for the time being. Thanks anyway!

Autocad-readable dxf
I remember reading an announcement somewhere on how to save a file in dxf so that it will be readable in Autocad. But I cannot find the page again and I do not remember which Save As option to use (there a gazillions of them). Please tell me!

Re: options not shown for line from 2 points
I was led astray by my MicroStation experience, where you can do all of this WITHIN the tool. I now learned that you have to set the rel. zero you want BEFORE using the tool--it's OK, once you know it. And Thank you!

line from 2 points not working
QCAD 3.22.1.0 Mac OS 10.14.10 The line from 2 points acts wierdly and differently from what the book says: I can select the first point, but then it immediately generates a line of 'infinite' length and extends it in the direction of my second point, which otherwise has not impact. When I hit a thir...

Re: options not shown for line from 2 points
Here's what I want to do: Draw a line whose FIRST point is relative to a point on some other entity. In other words, I have to select relative zero (the system cannot know this), then enter the coordinates rel. to that rel.origin, then start the line at that point. This is one of the most frequent o...

Re: options not shown for line from 2 points
I'm referring to pg 67--it reads as if the coordinate options (abs. vs rel.) are displayed in the toolbar right after the line tool has been selected. Further perusal of the book reveals that this happens only if you select the "coordinate" snap after selecting the tool, something that doesn't exist...

options not shown for line from 2 points
Hi, I'm new to QCAD and I'm stuck right off the bat (I could not find a question addressing my problem--please direct me if it has been answered). I tried to draw a line from 2 points and the QCAD book says that I can see fields to enter point coordinates, absolut or relative, but these options do n...
