Re: Pocketing

Thanks, I got the method from this forum topic: https://www.qcad.org/rsforum/viewtopic.php?t=5411https://www.qcad.org/rsforum/viewtopic.php?t=5411 In trying, I selected probably everything a few times, hence that is why it sometimes worked. Will try again. Thanks Andrew. Edit: Just tried again, and ...

Pocketing

Attached file has a rectangular object with an internal island. Both are polylines. Most of the times, the polyline offset command does not see the internal polyline and writes the whole block full of parallel lines. I have tried to change the polyline direction, regenerate them etc, but if it prope...

Reverse command

Wanting to swap the beginning and the end of a line, I found in the Modify menu the command 'Reverse' which works fine. Its abbreviation is listed as 'RV'. However, when typing 'RV' (or 'rv') at the command line, it tells me that it is an unknown command. Rob Linux Mint ---- Version: 3.27.1.0 (3.27....

Re: Block visibility on different layers

Andrew,
Thanks for the explanation.
I'll move all library blocks to layer 0.

[solved] Block visibility on different layers

In my drawings I often use the same block (representing a component) in multiple layers. When I turn off layers to select a part of the drawing, these block instances do not adhere to their layer on/off status. In the attached test, I put a block on layer 'object, then the next instance on layer 'hi...

Re: [Solved] Block update from library

Andrew, thanks.
I was not aware of that procedure; it works nicely. All blocks updated in one go.

[Solved] Block update from library

When I have created a library block, and used it several times in a drawing, I often make a correction to the block (e.g. adding a type number). When I have done that in the library, what is the best way to update my open drawing? To get the new version, I have to delete the old block version in the...

Re: [Solved] Missing some elements in paper space

Sure, I am familiar with that, I am very good in missing simple things :-)
No immediate need for 2.7.
I'll be happy to help but I just got this huge pile of stepper motors, aluminium profile and linear bearings, which I love to screw together.

Re: [Solved] Missing some elements in paper space

Went back to 3.26.4, same file, came up at open. There the dimension values print fine, and the 'M5' did not move.
The font I use id thin, maybe too thin for 27?
Anyway, I stay with 3.26.4 fo now.

Re: [Solved] Missing some elements in paper space

Maybe I spoke to quickly...
The dimension values show nicely on the print preview, but when I got the paper from the printer, they are not printed, and the M5 marker has moved to the bottom. Feel free to try a print...

Re: [Solved] Missing some elements in paper space

ryancousins,

Thanks, that solved the problems. I had a few other settings to change, but all manageable. At least now I can start drilling holes :-)

[Solved] Missing some elements in paper space

Just upgraded to: QCAD/CAM 3.27.0.0 (3.27.0), running on Linux -4 5.15.0-051500-generic from 3.26.4 On an (existing) drawing I cannot see the viewport boundary anymore (in layer viewports, still can select it) nor do the dimension values show up on paperspace, except when I draw the dimension direct...

Re: Stretching the whole object

OK, that solves it. Again a 3D issue.
Annoying, as I thought that I had drawn this one myself some time ago.
I assume there is no automatic flattening setting, when importing something.
Thanks, Rob

Stretching the whole object

In attached file I created an object of which I want to stretch all elements. According to the manual: If there is a selection of entities, this tool only affects the selected entities. Otherwise, this tool operates on all entities in the given area. Without selecting, I draw the stretch box. But on...
