I liked the immediacy of the icons.
On Macs the keycodes are usually associated with a modifier key such as command. I didn't see that indicated in the menu

changing an item's layer

I tried to change the layer an item was on. This is possible if the recipient layer is visible. If it was hidden the item was not transferred.

icons in drop down menus

I see capital letters rather than figures next to the text in the drop down menu eg in the draw or modify menus.
Is this deliberate and are they just temporary placeholders?

orphaned lines

Can a feature be added to highlight orphaned lines.
This would reveal the points where a shape is not a fully enclosed section, for example when one is trying to fill a shape with a hatch.
Currently, the message saying that hatch cannot be completed.

The dxf import is much better, at least on the drawings I've tried from client.
Any ideas on when a working version will be available?

Cut and divide icon

The "Cut" and "Divide" icons are very similar (scissors).
It may be better to change them eg rubber for cut or scalpel for divide

precision of parallel lines

If I draw a line starting at the origin then use the parallel line tool, the new line starts at a finite X or Y value eg 6.1234 e-17.
Not a show stopper but curious.
Also I was wondering if this offset was included in other lines but not seen.

1. I'm running Qcad pro on Mac S 10.4.11 after trying out the demo on 10.3.9. It seems more responsive on 10.3.9 for file opening. Is this a difference in OS qcad or my impression.

I can't see external drives (USB key) on 10.3.9 to open a file on the pen drive.

I am waiting with baited breath for your book.
Talking of typos, it's "bated breath".
