Re: [solved] Can’t Hatch Anything Now

When I run into this I will post it as you requested. There are three things about Qcad that drives me to use autocad instead. 1) Disappearing drawing. Sometimes very sporadically my drawing just totally disappear without an undo and there is no way to get it back other than to load an older sved ve...

Re: [solved] Can’t Hatch Anything Now

Hash tool is active, but no popup launched. Double checked that the loop is closed. I just commented to help the op, that I have the same problem regularly. I moved it to autocad as qcad hash has been a perpetual problem in the past across several designs. Just my opinion, but the hash tool needs be...

Re: [solved] Can’t Hatch Anything Now

Just a comment: This is exact issue biting me lately since I use Qcad again, and hatching is about one of the biggest reasons I usually use another cad program. It would work for a while and then you can just do what you want, you cant hatch anything. It is one of the biggest pains I have with Qcad,...

Re: QCAD automatically Deleted all my blocks in a design

You completely misunderstand. While I was using QCAD, I noticed all my blocks disappeared. ( You do not address this automatic destruction of data) I deleted nothing. How I save or not save it wont destroy ALL blocks right ?Only maybe the last hours work can be impacted. Everything on the canvas dis...

Re: QCAD automatically Deleted all my blocks in a design

Well, when you saved periodically your design and you then lost all content of your drawing why you haven't just closed the current drawing without saving it I did EXACTLY that. Qcad deleted all blocks and then autosaved the damage. No way to recover. It just came back with my construction lines an...

Re: QCAD automatically Deleted all my blocks in a design

Nope: 1) I saved at regular intervals. I ALAWAYS save periodically. Where did I say I never saved my work ? What I didnt do was to "save as" to a new file periodically. Surely you dont suggest that is default ? Since there is , to me a serious problem with Blocks in Qcad, that is exactly what I will...

QCAD automatically Deleted all my blocks in a design

This is disturbing. After spending a day on a design, qcad just ate all my blocks and the block list is now empty. All my layers are there, but all block shapes are gone.... ALL of them! There is no way I could have deleted all blocks. All I am left with that is intact is my construction line layer ...

One Click Circuit Hatching.

This is indispensable for CNC users in order to surface mill an irregular part efficiently. Especially for the most of us who do not own hyper expensive CNC's that do have such routines available natively. Without a route Hatch, the Gcode generated will be very inefficient. the circuit hatch creates...

Re: web version

Interesting, all though I do prefer to have software on my PC and usable in offline mod. That's one of the reasons I dropped AutoDesk. That concern of yours I totally agree about. I am no fan of Autocad anymore for similar reasons. No way I will have proprietary designs saved on a shady cloud servi...

Re: web version

why an interactive CAD running in a browser is of interest to you? For a business application for clients to do final configuration of parts themselves rather than to receive a lot of DXF STL and such all the time and to have a consistent pipeline from CAD to CNC. Will save a lot of time if their d...

web version

Long ago I was told that this exists for Qcad, but I cannot locate it.
Is there a web version of Qcad available similar to https://steemit.com/steemhunt/@josephac ... ad-modeler

Thanks to all contributing.

This thread is going to be extremely helpful for CNC users and to my needs one of the most important on the group.
It provided lots of insight into the workings of Qcad.

Re: Feature Request. Circuit-Type Hatching.

I thought you are a Pro user! Then you have all tools! (Menu / Modify) Sorry to disappoint. No not yet, as I am still trying to figure the workings of QCAD now almost for a decade. Between the licensing annoyances of Autocad on windows and the stability and better productivity of Linux, I basically...

Re: Feature Request. Circuit-Type Hatching.

My version doews not seem to have the "allign reference points" functionality.
I will see how I can work around it maybe.
But, I see the basic philosophy behind it.
