Re: Downloded .dxf file, How do I create a new Block?
Tried via 'Block/Attributes/Synchronise attributes' but nothing happened. Also when I clicked 'Update DB from file system' the Progress window shows VERY briefly showing 0 or 1% then dissappears. What am I doing wrong?

Re: Downloded .dxf file, How do I create a new Block?
I'm nearly there. I created the Block in Libraries/default/Bathroom Fittings but can't insert it into a new drawing, screenshot below:-

The block is shown in Block List but doesn't appear under Bathroom Fittings in Library Browser. Ray

Re: Downloded .dxf file, How do I create a new Block?
Working through the video I have got to this point:- Screenshot from 2020-03-18 11-07-24.png When I select the RH of the two bottom boxes 'create library item from selection' I get no response. I have the proposed block drawing open and the item selected. BTW the video is not of the highest quality,...

Lenovo V110 laptop 4GB RAM 500GB HDD running Ubuntu 16.04
I have downloaded and extracted a .dxf file ( plan of a bath) to /home/ray/Sureste-N 1700x750 wo-Massage.dxf

Re: Need to install 3.15.5-pr-linux-x86_32.run
Thanks for reply Andrew. In response I'm sure there's no disc space or permissions problems, and other drawings saved the day before this particular failure were OK. As regards the rectangle problem I can only say that "I did it the way I've always done it" and somehow the results were not as expect...

Re: Need to install 3.15.5-pr-linux-x86_32.run
Thank you Andrew, I was OK up to remembering the './qcad' command. Have now made a note of it; all will be well until I lose the note. Going back to what happened, have you any idea why QCAD would apparently fail to save my work? Or why when the command was to draw a rectangle 75mm x 135mm it drew a...

Need to install 3.15.5-pr-linux-x86_32.run
Have been experiencing problems with ver 3.13.1, eg failed on two occasions to save a file - I had to redraw both, and latest problem is that when trying to draw a simple rectangle qcad draws incorrect dimensions. I have downloaded ver 3.15.5 tar.gz but don't remember how to get it to run ( it curre...

'File - Print' show only Print to File, HP Deskjet not shown
Version: 3.13.1.0 (3.13.1) on Ubuntu 16.04.
When File-Print selected the only options shown are Print to File (PDF) or Print to File (Postscript). Why does my HP Deskjet 2540 no longer show?
Other print sources work OK.

Re: Opening QCAD 3.4.6 from Terminal in Ubuntu 14.04
Downloaded again, file size and checksum correct.
After input of 'tar xfvz qcad-3.12.6-pro-linux-x86_32.tar.gz', and after loading stopped I did:-
ray@ray-Aspire-5735:~$ ./qcad
bash: ./qcad: No such file or directory
What should I have done to get QCAD to open?

Re: Opening QCAD 3.4.6 from Terminal in Ubuntu 14.04
Decided to start again! Bought 3.12.6 Pro as my old one was well out of date. When I tried your fix above with the old 3.4.6 got qcad running OK but after downloading the new Pro version I got this output:- ray@ray-Aspire-5735:~$ tar xfvz qcad-3.12.6-pro-linux-x86_32.tar.gz gzip: stdin: unexpected e...
