DPI setting during SVG import results in small (or big) error

I have this SVG mister_laser_case_forprint.svg which was obviously exported from Affinity designer (the AF document was included) and then post-processed with Inkscape. When I open this file in Inkscape, it's correctly scaled. I.e. the three rectangles above the "MiSTer FPGA" logo are exactly 10x4mm...

Re: Offset not working on all polylines !?

OK, sorry I thought you meant the joint style for the offset tool.
Anyway, I created a bug report.

Re: Offset not working on all polylines !?

I'm not at home at the moment, so I can only try on my Notebook where I have currently an older version of QCad installed (3.6.3.0). My own example works correctly there but without installing a newer version I can't say if this is a regression of QCad or an issue of the graphics card. It's definite...

Re: Offset not working on all polylines !?

Offset is 3mm, number is 1, I try to get "Offset whole polyline" to work with the outer polyline (the rounded one). "Offset segment" works on it as well, just not the whole polyline which only works for the inner (edged) one. And well, there is only one layer. Hm, just tried to remove the outer poly...

Offset not working on all polylines !?

I'm probably doing something wrong, but I'm puzzled why "Offset" ("Äquidistante) seems to work on one polyline but not on the other. I attached an example with an outer and inner polyline. Created and tested with most recent QCad (Pro) 3.12.8.0 on Windows7. If I select "Offset" and move the cursor o...

Re: Gears, cogwheels

InkScape has a gear tool. Not many option though and you need to import the SVG into QCad. But it works.

Re: CAD Toolbar vs. Tool Matrix

That's a pretty cool new option. Actually I think I like it much better than the tool bar.

Re: How generate 3D image from qcad dxf file

I used the free version of PTC Creo Elements/Direct Modeling Express 6.0 with great success to create 3D models and STL files from my 2D drawings. You can easily import a DXF file to a workplane and then extrude it, chamfer edges etc. and finally save it to STL. Unfortunately, the license server is ...

Tool selection and toolbars

First of all: I don't want to sound negative, I really love QCAD. Without QCAD, I would have never ventured into the world of CAD applications because all the others I tried drove me crazy. This being said, there are still two things in QCad which continue to annoy me, so please bare with me if they...

Re: Updating without uninstalling manually

Yeah, but if I'd do it this way, I had already 13 QCAD installations or so. Besides, if the installer would replace an existing installation (if requested) instead of insisting to install to a different folder, downgrading would be as fast and easy as upgrading. I mean: it's nice and all that you ca...

Updating without uninstalling manually

Any chance to rework the Windows installer to update without manually uninstalling the previous version first?
It's always a bit of a drag. And yes, most of the time it works to unzip the new version over the older one, but then again sometimes it doesn't.

Converting solids to polylines

I try to create my own SMD solder masks using a cutting plotter (Silhouette Portrait) and need DXF as intermediate format. My PCB tool (DipTrace) can export to DXF and when I load the DXF into QCad, it looks fine, but when I load the same DXF into the plotter application, it's empty. I assume it's b...
