Inserting a line feed in a block attribute

I'm using one of the ANSI drawing formats provided by one of the other folks on this forum (whose name I can't remember at the moment). It includes block attributes to assist in filling out the title block. Is there a way to insert a line feed (carriage return) in a block attribute so you can get mo...

Re: Matching the font between notes and dimensions

Yep, I found it. I had the foolish notion they were all listed alphabetically.

Thanks for the clarification.

Matching the font between notes and dimensions [SOLVED]

I'm using v3.28.1 of QCAD Pro. I'd like the font for my notes, labels, etc. to match the font used for dimensions. In the Dimension Preferences dialog "Standard" is listed as the font used, but I don't find that listed as an option in the font list for text. What font should I use for text to match ...

Re: Using one file as a reference in another

To keep everything in the same file would be the common CAD praxis. But may I ask you what the plan is how to built that model? Traditional based on a print on paper or CNC based with g-code? Thanks for the guidance. I will keep all my work in one file as that seems to be the best practice. I've at...

Using one file as a reference in another

OS: Linux Mint 20.2 QCAD Ver: 3.23 I'm working on plans for a railroad roundhouse for which I plan to build a model. I've mostly completed the floor plan for it in one file and assume it is customary to produce elevations, details, roof framing, etc. in their own separate files. Based on that assump...

Looking for source of Architectural symbols

I'm working on a floor plan for a railroad roundhouse and am looking for the correct symbols to use to represent industrial roll-up and sliding doors as shown in the attached image. I've searched Google and seem to come up with nothing but residential references. FWIW, I'm a mechanical engineer by t...

Thanks for the pointer, I'll have to look into it. It looks like it might just work out better.

Re: Rotating an object when I don't know the exact angle to rotate

OK, I've got it now. I was expecting to specify the points as soon as I clicked the specify by points button. It didn't occur to me that I should click the OK button to proceed to the next step. Thanks for helping me extract my head from my...oh, never mind.

Re: Rotating an object when I don't know the exact angle to rotate

I've got a situation where I want to rotate several objects by an angle I don't know, but I can locate the center and the start and end points of the rotation. Is there a command in QCAD that allows me to do this? Yes - you can use the mouse cursor to define the angle: Select the entities, launch t...

Re: QCad pro 3.24.2 won't run after fresh install of Linux Mint 20

I looked for "plugins/xcbglintegrations" and couldn't find it, but found "xcbglintegrations" in the "opt/qcad-3.24.2-pro-linux-x86_32/" directory. If first deleted it. and ran QCAD, but no joy. Then I thought maybe the "xcbglintegrations" directory belonged in the plugins directory, so I placed it b...

Re: QCad pro 3.24.2 won't run after fresh install of Linux Mint 20

Well, that didn't help either. I added the path to the libraries to LD_LIBRARY_PATH at line 9 og the qcad script and this was the result of running the script: luggw1@tahoe:~/opt/qcad-3.24.2-pro-linux-x86_32$ ./qcad QCAD version 3.24.2 Fatal: This application failed to start because it could not fin...
