Re: Text Bounding Box
Husky, when I tried this feature the box that was created had no margin, but your examples did. Did you go in and change the size of the text after the fact or something else? First I used "Draw Bounding Box" and then the "Offset with distance" tool. Option: "Offset whole Polyline". Yes I know - it...

Re: Very Basic Querstions
. remove the very short line segments drawn from the circumferences of the 4 circled points to the centres of the circles (requirement to have blank space inside the circles) You could use the "Breack out segment" tool. Launch the tool and left click on the short line segment inside the circle. . f...

Re: Hello from Michigan (USA)
Hello Bruce, thanks for introducing yourself and welcome to the QCAD forum! I think the one-time license fee is very reasonable, but right out of the gate a basic feature does not seem to work correctly. It works correctly. I guess there is just a setting which prevents a proper outcome. I'm sure we...

Re: Library Parts - Incorrect size
The unit for "people_group_silhouettes.dxf" is "none". QCAD will convert an inserting drawing to the actual used drawing unit. In this case none to mm. Size of a person in "people_group_silhouettes.dxf" is around 6 (unit none). If you insert that in a drawing, which uses mm, then the scale factor ha...

Something doesn't add up here ... You provided links to 4 files. text test file.dxf m.dxf martins.dxf CALVIN ON A LOG TAKE2.dxf Your question is about text. None of those files contains text! Yes, it looks like text but technically it is built with lines, arcs and polylines. And the answer you got i...

Re: My first CAD file it is too slow, and had to stop.
I do not need to edit these complex blocks, and was only to use them, for optical/graphical/symbolic-effect/reference ... It is always helpful to keep in mind what the purpose is of any action. QCAD isn't designed to do a graphical design and frankly no CAD system is built to do that. Bottom line -...

Re: Dashed Lines
Hi, Hidden lines appear as solid unless you zoom in on the line. Is there a way to scale the line so a hidden line appears as dashes in a drawing that is 20 feet long? For the moment, forget the scaling of the lines. Maybe we do not need that. Please check the line type in the Layer attributes which...
