Re: Mouse for Qcad
If you are using an Apple "Magic Mouse", you will have to adjust your mouse navigation settings under: Edit > Application Preferences > Graphics View > Navigation > Mouse wheel zoom factor 1.02 should work OK for magic mice which are extremely sensitive. Any decent mouse with three buttons (a middl...

What is your favourite Vintage Drafting Book?
Years ago I had an amazing vintage engineering drawing book that had been translated from Russian. A work colleague borrowed it and it was never to be seen again. Do you have a favourite "vintage" drafting book?
Please share some photos and stories of your favourite "vintage" drafting books.

Re: Scenario when dropping AutoCAD for QCAD may not be practical
Whilst this thread was originally intended to be an "elevator pitch" for AutoCAD users that may be considering QCAD. Basically to say QCAD is totally awesome, You should try it; It is seriously worth getting and the only potential show stopper I could see was what I mentioned above. Whilst the origi...

Re: Scenario when dropping AutoCAD for QCAD may not be practical
Hi Ryan,
Very true. This is all an acceptable balance. The developers have done a great job. It is funny how I love using QCAD whereas in the past I have used a few AutoCAD clones that I found quite irritating to use due to lag, drawing interface and just not feeling right.

Scenario when dropping AutoCAD for QCAD may not be practical
I have used AutoCAD for many decades and am seriously enjoying using and learning QCAD Professional. It is incredibly great value and a very capable drafting package. I like that it is not AutoCAD nor does it try to be a clone. Being able to read and write DWG files is a big plus. Sure there are som...

Re: Greetings from Australia
Thanks John,
I am feeling good about having bought QCAD Pro and excited to start learning how to use it.
Still being able to edit my previous AutoCAD drawings is a big relief.

Hi Mike,
That is some seriously nice work you have done there. Looking forward to following you on your journey here with QCAD.
I am only just starting out with it and so far it looks promising.

Greetings from Australia
Hi all, Coming from a manual drafting background then switching to AutoCAD in the 90's I am very comfortable with AutoCAD and customising it at work to be more efficient. Years ago I bought my own copy of AutoCAD LT to draft plans on but found it considerably slower to use than AutoCAD due to it's l...
