Re: Minor Tweak to Dimension Baseline Setting
Oh dear, my knowledge of programming is zilch, so I'm blissfully ignorant of the earthquake a 'minor' tweak can unleash! And this is such a trivial issue it doesn't justify a lot of effort. What I had in mind was a simple arrangement whereby the prevailing default value is "echoed" next to the blank...

Minor Tweak to Dimension Baseline Setting
The default Dimension Line Increment is entered at Drawing Preferences >Dimension >Dimension Settings > Dimension Line Increment. Ideally, the value chosen should show up in the top ribbon when the DB command is invoked and the Default spacing box is unchecked. Users would then see what value is in ...

Problem Selecting a Group - the Logiteck Mouse Catch
Recently I found that when selecting a group of elements, the group flashed briefly but failed to stay selected. This happened repeatedly so that I then had to resort to selecting each element individually. After further use even single elements were getting difficult to select. My first instinct wa...

Re: Parallel Lines & Layout Blocks / Viewports
Ah yes - I see that now in the Property section. But what caused a factor of 0.5 to be used? Is that not in effect a 'carryover' from Paper Space to Model Space?Dimension has Linear measurement factor 0.5 and thus the displayed value is 5

Re: Parallel Lines & Layout Blocks / Viewports
Apologies for the omission - I now attach the two illustrations earlier referred to - Viewport Scaling A & B. With reference to using parallel lines in Paperspace, my instinct would be to avoid that. However it seems that in Paperspace you can't snap to the centre of a circle. For which reason I use...

Re: Parallel Lines & Layout Blocks / Viewports
The argument for turning off dimensions in Model Space and entering them in Paper Space is neatly explained in Husky's animation at https://qcad.org/rsforum/viewtopic.php?p=30652. To illustrate the point I attach a couple of sketches I have produced based on his original. Viewport Scaling_A shows th...

Parallel Lines & Layout Blocks / Viewports
Huawei Mate Book Pro 2020 / Windows 10 v.20H2 (OS Build 19042.1237) QCAD v.3.27.6.0 (3.27.6) I am getting great value out of QCAD's Layout Blocks / Viewports feature which is remarkably intuitive and delivers excellent results. However I have noticed that when I return to Modeling Space, although th...

Re: Rotating to a point
That's marvellous Andrew - just what I want. However the arrow symbol is all too easily over-looked. Can I suggest a second box under Angle (a) called Indicate point to rotate to .. or something similar?

[solved] commands 'sticking'.
QCAD Professional Version: 3.27.6.0 (3.27.6) Huawei Matebook Pro 2020: Windows 20 v21H2. For some time I have experienced difficulty getting QCAD to 'let go' of previous commands. I typically exit a command using Esc or double-clicking on Q, but sometimes have to do this several times. I don't think...

Rotating to a point
QCAD permits parallel lines to be specified by distance and also to be snapped to any designated point. Could this facility be extended to the Rotate function so that a line could be rotated to a designated point? Currently it is necessary to first measure the angle required then input it which is a...

Huawei Mate Book Pro 2020 / Windows 10 v.20H2 (OS Build 19042.1237) QCAD v.3.27.1.0 (3.27.1) When I select a line, then >Modify >Entities and choose a value at top (say 20), the line is neatly divided into 20 equal segments. However I am unable to snap to any of the segments and attempts to do so ca...

Re: Isometric Dimensions
For the record, I have found and downloaded QCAD v.3.26.4.0 and voila! the isometric dimensions work perfectly. So thanks again to Husky and CVH for getting me back on the rails.

Re: Isometric Dimensions
Ah, thanks to Husky and CVH. That's good news. I will look back to see if I have an old version of QCAD and will also look out for the 'fix' in due course.
